Department of Computer Science and Engineering is prepared to meet the challenges and is playing a leadership role in shaping the education of the 21st Century by providing unique educational and research opportunities in the forefront of Computer Science and Engineering. 

The department of Computer Science and Engineering established in the year 2010 offers UG programs in Computer Science and Engineering. 

The students are exposed to:

Department Mission:


The basic mission and goals of the Computer Science Department is to provide the highest quality education in computer science; to perform research that advances the state-of-the-art in computer science; to create highly trained professional manpower who are knowledgeable, have basic and core concepts, articulate, principled, innovative, confident, and able to think critically; to be engaged in local, state, national and international level through durable technical foundation in an environment of rapid technical change.


The department is fully dedicated to achieve the following missions, keeping in mind the rapid industrial development in the context of globalization:

v  To developed social, moral, aesthetic and ethical values amongst our students.

Department Vision:


The vision of the Computer Science Department is to be recognized nationally and internationally for delivering outstanding computer science education and conducting research of high quality both of value and relevance to the communities we serve.


The Department believes the following philosophy and culture:-

v  To impart state-of-the-art education and training in all branches of Engineering.

v  To create top class research facilities not only for students and faculty but the one this can attract the industry also.

v  Keeping these in mind, HIT, focused its preferred future towards elevating the present status to a Centre of Excellence of national repute – as short term vision, and to elevate it further to a self sustaining institute of international standard – as a long term vision.

Project & Research Work:

In a world increasingly propelled by technology, academic research forms the mainspring of a nation’s economic growth. Department of Computer Science and Engineering inspires to transform the lives of the young budding engineers through their innovative ideas to contribute for research at academic level. Department is closely working with core industries to train the students in this direction as a parallel activity to their academics. This objective will be very close to the heart of the industry in the direction of producing ready to be employed engineers. The key goal of this Department is to provide a creative atmosphere in which higher studies and research work amongst the faculty and students.

Department of Computer Science and Engineering facilitates interaction with external agencies, both national and international. It also promotes and manages Institute-Industry interaction and all externally funded research and development projects.

The department of Computer Science and Engineering is actively involved in research in various fields of computer science .The major research areas include:

ü  Ad-hoc Network

ü  Data Warehouse and Data Mining

ü  High Performance Wireless Sensor Network

ü  Image Steganography

ü  Bioinformatics & GIS

ü  Parallel and Distributed Computing

ü   Soft Computing Application          


The Institute offers courses of study leading to B.Tech. degree and also research facilities. The medium of instructions and examination is English. The courses include study at the Institute, visits to work sites and practical training. In the Institute Workshops and in approved Engineering works. There is a university Examination at the end of each semester.

The duration of courses for B. Tech. is four academic years.

Institute has been publishing international journal from the year 2015 to make public the research work. It has been organizing various conferences, seminars and workshops for better exposure to the newest technologies.

Computer Science and Engineering discipline has 60 seats.
